How do I place an order on the website ?
EX NIHILO’s website is designed to enhance client experience and satisfaction.
Once you found the creation you wanted to buy, click on the product page where you’ll find all the information you need about ordering. Choose the size you want to receive. Click on the button « Add to shopping bag ».
Then, you can either pursue your shopping or you can go directly to the cart. This page will summarize the content of your shopping bag. To finalize your order, you must be logged in your account or create one. Do not forget to add your delivery information before going through all the steps of payment.
After the validation of your payment, you’ll receive a confirmation on your email adress, the same you used to create your account.
Do I need an account to place an order ?
No, you can place an order as a guest. For a more seamless experience, we recommend creating an account to track your orders, view your order history, and stay up to date with the latest from EX NIHILO.
I’ve forgotten my password - what should I do?
Click on Forgot your password? on the login page and enter your email address. You’ll receive an email with instructions to reset your password.
I can’t valid my shopping bag. What should I do ?
Please ensure that cookies are enabled in your browser, as they are required to store items in your shopping bag and complete your order.
If the issue persists, we invite you to contact our Customer Service team at concierge@ex-nihilo-paris.com, and we will be happy to assist you as quickly as possible.
Can I modify my order ?
Once your order has been placed, we are unable to make changes as it is quickly processed by our fulfillment team. We recommend reviewing your order carefully before completing your purchase, as a full summary is provided at checkout.
Can I cancel my order ?
Once an order has been placed, it cannot be canceled as it is immediately processed by our fulfillment team. If you no longer wish to keep your order, please refer to our Return Policy for next steps.
Will I receive an order confirmation ?
Once you have place your order, you’ll receive an order confirmation. It is an automatic email which informs you that your order has been sent to our order preparation department. If you don’t receive this email, check your spams before contacting our customer service.
Will I be informed when my order has been processed?
Yes, you will receive tracking details by email once your order has been shipped.
How will I know that my bank account has been debited ?
Generally, as with all online payments, your bank account is debited when your order is dispatched. If you pay by Paypal, your account will be debited directly after the payment has been validated.
What happens if an item I ordered is out of stock?
In rare instances, an item may become unavailable after your order has been placed. Should this occur, our Customer Service team will reach out to you promptly to offer an alternative or process a refund.
How does the Discovery Set Voucher function ?
Receive a gift voucher equivalent to the value of the Discovery Set to use on your next order of a 100 ml or a 50 ml fragrance. This voucher is exclusive to ex-nihilo-paris.com and usable only one time. You have a delay of 3 months to use it. After the delay, the voucher will not function anymore.
Please note that if you buy several discovery sets at the same time, you will only receive one discount code. You will have to wait 3 months to buy a Discovery Set and benefit from a discount code again. The codes are for a single use only and cannot be combined.
Are all EX-NIHILO fragrances available online?
Our website offers a curated selection of EX NIHILO creations. Certain fragrances, exclusive editions, and personalized services may be available only in our boutiques or through select retail partners.

What delivery methods are available and what are the shipping fees ?
FedEx Home Delivery for FREE: 2–5 business days
USPS First Class Mail for FREE : 2-8 Business Day
FedEx 2Day Express for $28.00 : 2 Business Days
Do you require a signature for delivery?
To ensure safe and secure delivery, orders over $150 are shipped with a signature requirement. If you prefer, we’re happy to ship your order to a FedEx hold location for convenient pickup.
When and how my order will be shipped ?
Once you have placed your order, our team will validate it every morning (working day).
Packages are then delivered according to the time-frames indicated above, plus the times taken to process and deliver your order.
Where does EX NIHILO ship ?
EX NIHILO delivers within the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii. EX NIHILO does not ship in Canada.
For delivery in the Europe, please connect to our European website.
My parcel has been dispatched but I still haven’t received anything. What should I do ?
Once your order has been dispatched, you have received an email from our carrier with your tracking number. Check on the carrier platform where the package is. If it is indicated as « On Delivery », please be patient until the delivery date. Also, check the postal address. If you have any issue or questions please contact our Customer Service Department.
What should I do if my package is missing?
If you’re unable to locate your package, we recommend first checking with your doorman, building staff, or neighbors, as it may have been received on your behalf.
If it still cannot be located, please reach out to our Customer Service team. We will open an investigation with the carrier and work with you to resolve the issue as quickly as possible, including arranging a replacement if appropriate.
What if my item arrives damaged or leaking?
Please email us at concierge@ex-nihilo-paris.com within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the packaging and product, and we’ll be happy to assist you.
My atomizer isn’t spraying properly - what should I do?
If your atomizer is not spraying as expected, try pressing firmly several times to prime it. If the issue persists, please reach out and we’ll be happy to assist.
Return & exchange
What is your return policy?
We accept returns on unopened items in their original cellophane. To preserve the integrity of each creation, opened products are not eligible for return. For full details and instructions, please visit our Returns page.
Can I return an item?
We accept returns on items that are unopened and remain sealed in their original cellophane packaging. To preserve the integrity of each fragrance, opened items are not eligible for return.
In line with applicable regulations, you have 14 days from the date of delivery to request a return.
To initiate a return, please contact our Customer Service team at concierge@ex-nihilo-paris.com. Returns must be initiated prior to sending any items back, and our team will guide you through the next steps.
Customers are responsible for return shipping costs. We recommend using a trackable shipping method, as we are not responsible for items lost in transit.
Can I exchange an item?
If you would like to select a different fragrance, you may return your unopened item in accordance with our return policy and place a new order. We do not currently offer exchanges.
I have received a faulty product. What should I do?
At EX NIHILO, we pay meticulous attention to the quality of the products we send you. However, once the package has been handed over to the carrier, it may be damaged or defective. In this case, please contact customer service to arrange for it to be returned.
For reasons of health and transport safety, please check before returning the product that the bottle is still airtight and that there is no risk of leakage.
What if my item arrives damaged or incorrect?
If your order arrives damaged or if you receive an incorrect item, please contact us at concierge@ex-nihilo-paris.com as soon as possible, ideally within 24 hours of delivery, and include photos of the packaging and product so we can assist you promptly.
What if I experience a reaction to a product?
While our fragrances are developed to the highest standards, sensitivities may occur in rare cases. If you experience any discomfort or irritation, we recommend discontinuing use and consulting a healthcare professional if symptoms persist. Please note that returns are only accepted for unopened and unused items.
Is there a charge for returns?
If you wish to return your product within the cooling-off period, you will receive a full refund (product price and delivery charge). However, you will be entirely responsible for the cost of returning the product. If you request an exchange or a refund, you will also be responsible for the return postage costs.
Can I return an online order in a boutique or department store, and vice versa?
Online orders must be returned through our customer service team and cannot be processed in boutiques or department stores. Similarly, purchases made in boutiques or through retail partners should be returned to the original place of purchase.

Do you test your formulas on animals ?
At EX NIHILO, we are deeply committed to protecting wildlife and ensuring the ethical treatment of animals. We do not test our creations on animals, and we adhere to strict cruelty-free practices in all aspects of our brand. Respect for nature and people is at the heart of what we do.
Do your fragrances contain allergens?
Our fragrances are crafted with the greatest care and we respect IFRA guidelines, ensuring they meet the highest industry standards. While they may contain trace amounts of allergens naturally found in perfume ingredients, we adhere to strict guidelines to prioritize safety and quality. We display on our packaging the list of potentially allergenic raw materials contained in each of our fragrances. Perhaps, you can also check the lists of all allergens on each product sheet.
Do you offer personalization or bespoke services?
Personalization services, including engraving and bespoke fragrance experiences, are available exclusively in select EX NIHILO boutiques and participating retail locations. We invite you to visit one of our points of sale to discover these services and experience the Osmologue©, our in-store personalization technology, guided by our fragrance specialists.
What do you call the « Personalization Program »?
At EX NIHILO, we are committed to offering you perfumes that match your needs. To do so, we have developed, an exclusive device called the Osmologue© an exclusive technology that allows to personalize the Initiale and Babylone Collection with the most exclusive raw materials of perfumery.This service is physical destination only,
In collaboration with our noses, we have selected several raw materials allowing you to achieve the fragrance of your dreams: the absolute of Iris Pallida from France, the absolute of Rose de Mai from Grasse (France), the absolute of Jasmine Grandiflorum from India, the absolute of Fleur d'Oranger from Morocco, the Bourbon Vanilla from Madagascar and the Bois de Santal from Australia.
For each creation, we have selected 3 relevant chords to give birth to a new universe or olfactory landscape that corresponds to your tastes, desires and personality.
How long does the perfume customization ritual last in store?
Our priority is dialogue and interaction: our ambassadors are trained to guide you and transcribe your olfactory desires into the perfume you dreamed of. It takes only a few minutes to complete the customization process and you will be able to enjoy it without having to wait months to receive it!
Can I order my custom perfume online?
Unfortunately, due to the complexity of the process, it is not possible to order online yet. We invite you to visit one of our main stores to enjoy ans share this experience.
Is the Osmologue© present in all points of sale?
The Osmologue© is only available in our main stores. Here is the list of cities where you will find the Osmolologists: Paris Saint-Honoré and François 1er, Harrods Salon de Parfums, Selfridges London Bergdorf Goodman New York, Bloomingdales Dubaï, Doha Flagship Vendôme Mall, Hong Kong Flagship at IFC Mall.
Do you offer gift boxes?
Each EX-NIHILO creation is presented in our signature packaging, thoughtfully designed to reflect the House’s craftsmanship and attention to detail, making it perfectly suited for gifting. At this time, additional gift wrapping is not offered.
Our advices
How do I know if my Ex Nihilo fragrance is authentic?
All EX NIHILO products purchased through our official website and authorized retail partners are guaranteed to be 100% authentic. Each creation is developed and produced in France, ensuring the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.
Where is the best place to store my fragrance?
Store your fragrance in a cool, dry place away from heat and direct sunlight. Keeping it in its original box will help preserve its quality over time.
How long can I keep my perfume over time?
The average life of a perfume varies depending on its composition. Some Hesperides creations may have a slightly oxidizing head note after 18 months. As we only work with the best materials, our creations remain very faithful olfactively for several years.We guarantee their excellent properties from 3 to 5 years.
Where and how can I apply my perfume?
We advise you to apply your perfume on the body pulse points on a well moisturized skin: the neck, the inside of the wrist, the chest. Spray on your clothes if you have sensitive skin type: textiles have the particularity of retaining the molecules of perfume for a long time. In addition we recommend to layer to enhance and personalize the sillage. Apply a drop of SUBLIME ESSENCE OIL before spraying or finish your sillage with a long spray (including your hair) of SUBLIME MISTS, it will make all the difference.
How many perfumes can I try before I “saturate” olfactively ?
To discover and fully appreciate our perfumes instore, we advise you to smell them through the Vases of scents then to test directly on skin for a few minutes. In general beyond three perfumes, you risk to saturate, so take your time, give your nose some rest by having a glass of water or smelling your own skin for a few seconds.
What are the benefits of layering fragrance?
It’s the perfect ritual if you want to keep a unique and sophisticated sillage for a very long time.
We see two benefits: the first is elevating the long-lasting effect because your skin is going to be more moisturized and “prepared” to be more receptive to the fragrance. It will fix the scent better and last more than 24 hours easily. The second is creativity: we encourage our customers to dare unexpected combinations, it opens the doors to real personalization and self expression that’s the reasons why we like it so much..
